RWA SPECIAL NOTICES:

From Here To Eternity

Romance Writers of Australia’s 20th Annual Conference

August 11-14, 2011

Hilton on the Park, Melbourne

CLAYTON’S CONFERENCE:

When? Friday 12th August 9am and ending Sunday 14th August

Where? On line

Anne Whitfield has had a few emails from members wanting to know how to register for the Claytons Conference. Here is some more information for Claytons Virgins!
The Claytons conference is online and run the same weekend as the Melbourne conference from Friday 12
th to Sunday 14th
August.

The Claytons conference is run (primarily) via emails through the special Claytons yahoo group set up. Please go to this website to register at any time. Officially, registrations aren’t open until next month but you can still become a ‘pending member’. All names and emails are collected for the database. Registration forms and the weekend’s program will be sent out in July to all those who have enrolled.

On the Friday and Saturday nights there will be chats (party time, woohooo!) in the chat room of the RWA’s website chat room. To get into the chat room, you must sign into the members’ section of the website and click on the link on the left hand side.

The weekend program is complete and full of interesting workshops and special guests.
For instance, two editors, one from Samhain Publishing and one from Ellora’s Cave, will be appearing to take pitches. Varied workshops will be presented by our talented RWA members – from world building to plot structures to synopsis writing and plenty more. International guests, Diane Gaston and Darlene Gardner, plus our home grown author, Michelle Diener will be making an appearance too. There will be writing challenges to keep you on your toes and some fun games such as a scavenger hunt, etc.

Generous RWA authors have been donating great items for our prizes! You don’t want to miss those!

If anyone has any questions please don’t hesitate to email Anne. Don’t miss out!

50K IN 30 DAYS:

Some good examples of how to pitch & how to write a pitch over at the
Ruby-Slippered Sisterhood for anyone revving up for conference

This from Kristin Nelson today on her blog The New Buzz Word: Speculative

A chuckle-funny post at the Blood-Red Pencil about the pests we
stumble across when writing.

Some really great points here to consider when creating your own blog
tour!
