Get Fresh in ’15 Presents…

Simply Scrivener

This session will be presented by Alison Stuart and will be running on Sat 22nd August at 2pm

About your presenter:

Alison-8125-LR-ColorAlison Stuart is a lapsed (or recovering) lawyer who has worked in the military and fire service, with an obvious obsession for men in uniform, which may explain a predisposition to soldier heroes.  She lives in Melbourne with her own personal hero (and yes, he was wearing a uniform when they met!) and two pathetically needy cats. She mostly subsists on a diet of gin and tonic.

Alison has a passion for the English Civil War and her 7th historical romance will be published in 2015.

Have you presented sessions at previous conferences, for RWA or other organisations?

I’m not sure how Scrivener became my “thing” but in 2013, along with Sasha Cottman, I presented an introduction to Scrivener at the RWA Conference in Perth. From there I have gone on to present it to Writer’s Groups and to do a workshop at the Williamstown Literary Festival.  I do also like doing workshops on writing!

What is the best part/aspect of conference for you?

Catching up with my tribe… friends I haven’t seen all year and people who really “get” me!

Will there be hands-on exercises or audience participation?

This workshop only works if the participants are fully hands on ie. Bring your laptops pre loaded with Scrivener (and a good battery life).

Which members will benefit most from this session?

Those members who already have a very basic knowledge of Scrivener. It is not aimed at complete beginners.

Anything you’re particularly looking forward to at the 2015 Get Fresh conference in Melbourne?

Being in my own home town and seeing how the conference interacts with the Melbourne Literary Festival!

What is your latest/current/upcoming book release and where can members find out more about you?

2015 is big for me. Through my wonderful publisher, Escape, I am releasing the trilogy I always wanted to write! My first two books, BY THE SWORD and THE KING’S MAN have been fully revised and re-edited and will come out in March and August and in December the third book to round out the series, a new book tentatively titled EXILES’ RETURN will be coming out. I am so excited! It is titled THE GUARDIANS OF THE CROWN series and you can read a little bit more about on my website:—coming-in-2015.html
