Chick Lit: Beyond Bridget Jones
This session will be presented by Laura Greaves and Carla Caruso on Sun August 23rd at 2pm.
Beyond Bridget Jones: The new rules of writing romantic comedy
In the 20+ years since authors including Helen Fielding, Marian Keyes and Sophie Kinsella helped make romantic comedy – aka ‘chick lit’ – one of the most popular romance subgenres, a whole lot has changed. Today’s rom-com novels have moved on from shopping, shoes and cocktails. Join romantic comedy authors Laura Greaves and Carla Caruso as they explore the fundamentals of writing romantic comedy in the 21st century.
