Melanie celebrates the release of Devil in Denim this week.

Life just threw her a curveball!
As the team-owner’s daughter, Maggie Jameson grew up in the New York Saints’ stadium—glove, cap, hot dogs, and all. Baseball’s in her blood, and she’s always dreamed of the day when she would lead the Saints to victory herself. That was before her dad had to sell the team to Alex Winters. The fast-talking, fiercely attractive businessman has a baseball pedigree that’s distinctly minor league. Maggie wants to hate him but his skills of seduction, however, are off the charts.

Congratulations to Rachael on the release of Tease Me, Cowboy

Selah Davis loves her life as a journalist in Seattle (or so she says) but on a rare trip home to Marietta to cover the Copper Mountain Rodeo, she confesses to her best friends over drinks that her one regret in life is not sleeping with her high school boyfriend, Levi Monroe. Into the bar walks Levi, also home for the rodeo. When her friends dare her to proposition him for a one night stand, she’s at first appalled… but the more she thinks about remedying her one regret, the less she can get him and their electric chemistry out of her head. Selah’s always been her parents’ good daughter. Would it hurt just for one night to be a little bit bad?

Brushing off the Boss is out 15 September and is Book 2 in the Half Moon Bay series in the Bliss imprint

The one passion they had in common was the one that would keep them apart.

Artist Sienna Sacchi is about to have everything she’s ever dreamed of, when sexy playboy Jack Montgomery comes strolling back into her life as the owner of her gallery. Her plan to buy it herself ruined, she refuses to let him interfere with the most important thing—her debut exhibition. But Jack’s not just taking over her workplace, he’s also intruding on her art studio, her home, and maybe even her heart.

Anna Campbell has another daring release out for historical fans, What a Duke Dares

He’s the last man she wants to marry – and he’s the only man she’ll ever love …

A reputation at risk

What woman in her right mind would say no to marrying the dashing Duke of Sedgemoor? Miss Penelope Thorne, that’s who. She’s known Camden Rothermere since they were children – and she also knows she’d bring nothing but scandal to his name.

The second book in Anna’s Greyladies series has now been published. It’s a WWI romantic historical with a light dusting of woo-woo, set in an ancient Tudor mansion in Wiltshire.

Congratulations to Elizabeth on her contract for print and e-book for The Highlander in the Mist, historical, medieval, time travel, spicy romance with Luminosity Publishing UK.

Maggi a new release this week. Available in print and ebook. What A Rake WantsThe Spies of Mayfair Series, Book #3.

The Emerald Award 2014

The Emerald Award has two major points of difference from the other RWA contests.

Firstly, it is judged by keen romance readers, not writers. This gives an indication of the marketability of your story but won’t necessarily provide the sort of feedback that helps improve your writing technique.

Secondly, you must have a completed manuscript should your story make it to round 2. The turnaround time between rounds 1 and 2 is one week (5 working days) so there is no time to finish your book then.

Opens: 1 November 2013
Closes: Midnight Sydney time, 22 November 2013

Enter: The first 10,000 words of your unpublished romance or romantic elements manuscript (10K+). Entries are by email. Entrants who reach the second round will need to submit their full manuscript.

Entry fee: $38.50 incl GST per entry.

Final judges
Short:
Joanne Grant, Executive Editor, Harlequin UK
Long: Charlotte Ledger, Editor and Content Developer, Harper Impulse

Prizes: 1st prize in each section – $500, 2nd – $250 3rd prize – $150.

Entry criteria: unpublished RWA members only.

Good News

The first book in her new historical series, HEIR TO GREYLADIES is out in the UK, including Book Depository, and is almost out on Amazon.com.

Barb’s second book with Entangled Indulgence was released this week and it’s getting some lovely reviews.  DISHING UP DESIRE is the story of homely celebrity chef Kirin Hart, and Blake Matthews the ex-international model charged with making her over. And it’s not only Kirin’s image that’s about to be flipped. Blake might be very easy on the eye, but there’s a whole lot more to him than meets it.

THE MAN PLAN is a finalist in the 2013 Aspen Gold Reader’s Choice Award

Maree is celebrating the release of her latest YA novel LIMINAL, on Smashwords.

MARRYING THE ENEMY (nominated for a 2013 RBY) won the National Readers’ Choice Award for Best Contemporary Series novel.

Lisa’s debut novel, SOUL TIES, is available on Amazon.

Good News

TAKING A CHANCE was released on May 1

This historical romance/crime is set in Perth during the Second World War. Nell Fitzgerald is an Australian fashion columnist and Johnny Horvath is a captain with the American Press Corps with a shady romantic past. He ropes in Nell to help him prove the innocence of his ex-lover who has been convicted of the murder of a caddish artist and together they find excitement and romance whilst uncovering the seedier side of the ‘American Invasion’ of Perth.

HER GUARDIAN ANGEL – Book 1 of Fire and Snow – June Release

The last thing Snow-Leopard Shifter Dominic expects to find at an accident scene is his mate, the beautiful Adele, but after four years of dreaming of her, there she is, right in front of him. However, winning the heart of his lonely, grieving mate is no simple task. Just as their relationship begins to heat up a gravely injured child, Kelly, stumbles into their lives after escaping and fleeing her abuser. Will Dominic and Adele’s bond grow stronger as they nurture and protect Kelly? Will their relationship be able to survive all that fate plans on throwing their way?

BLOODLUST DENIED releases on June 7 from Ellora’s Cave

Tired of the thin-blooded aristocrats in 1815 London, Alexius yearns for better sport. He is drawn to a dark-haired seductress who shows no fear and refuses to obey his commands. Entranced by such novelty, he denies his bloodlust and decides to keep her to warm his bed. Immortal vampire hunter Morana has never mistaken her prey before, but the dark stranger mesmerizes her, enticing her to forget everything but the dangerous pleasure she finds in his arms. Neither one can deny the pull of the other, but there is something beyond the lust—a recognition neither can put a name to. The past and present collide and unless they discover the truth behind the lies, Death will triumph once more.

Has two new books coming out in July:

THE TRADER’S GIFT from Hodder & Stoughton UK and Australia in hardback and trade paperback (the latter Australia/NZ only)

HEIR TO GREYLADIES from Allison & Busby in hardback
