Barb’s second book with Entangled Indulgence was released this week and it’s getting some lovely reviews.  DISHING UP DESIRE is the story of homely celebrity chef Kirin Hart, and Blake Matthews the ex-international model charged with making her over. And it’s not only Kirin’s image that’s about to be flipped. Blake might be very easy on the eye, but there’s a whole lot more to him than meets it.

This free cookbook is due out in October. If you’d like to know more about Passionate Cooks, I’ve featured it on my website, along with another one of my favourite recipes.

And because I don’t often get an excuse to experiment *cough* fussy children! *cough*, I’m starting up a Recipe of the Week section on my website. My first contributor is my lovely Aussie author friend Jennie Brumley, with her incredibly decadent sounding Double Chocolate and Hazelnut Brownie Cake… which is just in time for me to try for DH’s birthday. YUM!

I have my fabulous American friend author Jen Tucker on my blog today. While she doesn’t write romance – at least that’s not what she’s published in – her post is well worth reading for a Sunday laugh. The topic – old ladies problems. I’d love her to have some Aussie love…

Enrico’s quote of the week

A kiss, when all is said, what is it?
A rosy dot placed on the “i” in
loving;
‘Tis a secret told to the mouth instead of to the ear.

BLOG BITE with…Maree Anderson

At home I cook… If I’m forced to! (In other words, if DH doesn’t offer first. Sometimes we sit on opposite couches watching TV and waiting to see who’ll give in first.)

My worst habit is… not getting showered and out of my pjs until just before the kids get home from school.

My first job was… a bank teller.

I procrastinate by… reading.

Three things people might not know about me are… Those who’ve met me are gonna spit their coffee over their monitors when they read this first one: I’m actually quite shy. I angst for weeks over things I’ve said to people that might not have come out the way I meant them to. I cringe at the thought of other people reading the “naughty” scenes in my books – ironic for someone pubbed in erotic romance, right?

My secret skill that is no longer a secret… I have a reeeally warped imagination.

Currently reading… MAGIC IN THE SHADOWS by Devon Monk

If I was stranded on a desert island, the three things I would take are… Two biiiig boxes of my favourite books and the hero of From The Ashes, my latest Red Sage Presents release. Why? Well, he’s pretty special 😉

I write…  romance of the paranormal persuasion, and I’m currently pubbed with Red Sage. My first full-length novel, FROM THE ASHES, just released on 1st December…. Woot!

READERS ARE WINNERS!  Maree is giving away an electronic copy of FROM THE ASHES to one Blog Bite commenter who (before 5pm this Saturday) can post, telling her something—anything at all!—about either the hero or the heroine of this story. To help you out, here’s the blurb (and if you’re curious, you can also read an excerpt over at Maree’s Red Sage author page: http://www.eredsage.com/store/FromTheAshes_Maree%20Anderson.html) Winner announced on the post after 5pm Saturday.

FROM THE ASHES: Calista’s a freelance space courier recovering from a disastrous marriage during which her ex tried to sell her as a slave. Sure, she’s emotionally damaged, but you should see the state of her ex! She’s also an expert pilot who can illegally reprogram and augment all manner of tech. She’s been ripping off the system and flying under the radar her entire life…. Until now.

Asher’s her “cargo”, the mouthwateringly gorgeous Phoenixae alien who accidentally hatched from the egg she was transporting, and bonded with her. He’s been bred as a sex slave and he can read her mind. Which wouldn’t be so bad if 1) she didn’t abhor slavery and everything it represents, 2) she wasn’t horny as hell, and 3) he wasn’t doubly tempting because of his extra er, male parts! Oh, and then there’s the small issue that if Asher is killed and his body burnt, he can be resurrected. He’s one hot commodity that illegals will kill to possess.

Take one sex-deprived space courier who’ll risk everything to save an alien from a life of slavery. Add one mouthwateringly hot alien sex-slave who knows her deepest desires, feels her pain, and lives to please her in every way. Mix with a ruthless ex-husband intent on vengeance. And stir in a sadistic Libertine noble who will do anything at all to get his hands on a Phoenixae. From the ashes an unexpected hero will emerge…. And he’s full of surprises!

You can find out more about Maree’s books and upcoming releases on her website: http://www.mareeanderson.com. She also blogs weekly over at Writers Gone Wild: http://www.WritersGoneWild.blogspot.com
